The Allure of Wearing Bronze...

Ever consider the Allure of Wearing Bronze...

Beloved for its unusual hue and natural elements, the color bronze is a stunning shade that boasts many facets. Most prominently associated with strength, stability and support, bronze is a color that stands on its own. It requires little assistance and is exceptionally grounded. If bronze were a person, it would undoubtedly have a great head on its shoulders. It’s for this reason why many hues aspire to be more like bronze.

Bronze is selflessly supportive. It’s always looking for opportunities to lift others up, which is why this dazzling hue is held in such high regard. Though it offers a lot of support, it doesn’t expect anything in return. Bronze simply wants to see others succeed, and it enjoys providing a helping hand. If you feel down on your luck or in a rut, bronze will deliver the guidance and encouragement that you need to thrive in the face of adversity.
Bronze is also synonymous with excellence. It doesn’t settle for anything less. When in the presence of bronze, anticipate being impressed. It’s not necessarily a show-off, but it does relish the spotlight. With that said, don’t be intimidated by bronze. Much of what it does is premeditated, so you can rest assured that it’s not naturally perfect. Bronze does have some flaws, but it’s eager to overshadow them with its beauty and talent.

Stoneware Shard Neck Wrap

I have been hoarding these paperthin shards from some
of my favorite pieces which met disastrous ends and
now they have become a piece of wearable art!

Cameroon Inspired Necklace

The African Millefiore beads
which dominate the top neck cord
and each hanging strand
were the gift of Myrle Borine.
The large rich brown stoneware bead
in the center of the waxed linen neck cord
was made by BHClaysmith as were
all the many ceramic beads in the strands.

The eight necklace strands or tassels
are complete with Salwag discs, hand cut glass discs,
carved horn/bone beads, Czech glass elephants,
wood bi-cones, metal beads, glass seed beads,
African powdered glass beads and Trade beads.
Black leather cords wrapped in copper wire finish
the sides and attach to a heavy copper chain
which can be shortened if needed.

PENDANT NECKLACES

Pictured above, both sides of the Tatanka Wicasa
Necklace pendant...

At the Oklahoma City National Memorial,
the site of the 1995 bombing of the Federal Building,
stands the Survivor Tree.
The Survivor tree is an American Elm
whose leaves adorn my Tatanka Wicasa pendant.

A Talisman Pendant with Two Faces
looking in opposite directions
personifies change as well as transitions;
it suggests being able to see into the past with one face
and into the future with the other.

Double faced beads are symbols of a ‘middle ground’
where the individual can feel centered
and exist totally in the now.

A pendant made up of two separate ceramic rings
united as one with comfortably-wrapped
copper wire coils. Irregular Red River Jasper stones
& rounds spaced with Bon trade seeds
make up the necklace from which
the interlocking circles hang...
The earrings have opposing lizard accents.

Copper Nugget Statements...

Bon seed beads, bamboo from my garden,
fool's gold chunks & larger hollow copper chunks
form this easy-to-wear double strand necklace
with complementary earrings.

These were the nuggets left from making the two
necklaces pictured below...

Two necklaces designed to be worn together for
a full impact fashion statement. I used my favorite
Bon beads, Copper nuggets, my own hand painted and
handmade ceramic tube & spacer beads.

Earrings to complement!

Hand Painted, Hand Cut Components for Earrings...

Emily Cohen's handcut glass hearts
are a great beginning for these hand painted components...

Some are accented with copper findings while others
are finished with silver findings...

Glass hearts are made fun with the inclusion of
geometric designs and these have it on both sides...

These also are patterned with what I call Cobblestones
on both sides but in different colorways...

Frosted cultured beach glass pieces make a great canvas
for simple as well as complicated lines, dots or swirls...

And these round ceramic clay discs also become
more interesting with patterns and color...

Opaque mauve glass handcut hearts become
plaid (on both sides) accented with facetted glass
drops and copper pinch bails...

Even textured glass squares become more interesting
with the addition of color and some underglaze
patterned clay Spirit Hole discs...
