Designer Liner's Strike Again...

A Simple Tumbled Shard Necklace

A spiral copper bail is affixed to the tumbled shard with

two drilled holes before sliding the teal leather cord

through the bail for the neck cord...

This necklace is a perfect carrier for essential oil which can then

mingle with your essence while you wear it.

These are what happens with clay leftover scraps...

Which are compressed together and cut into shapes...

Then accented with Mayco Designer Liners...

In this case, the scraps were Standard's 710 and

cone 5/6 porcelain paper clay...

Every two pictures shows the front and back

of the same pendant components -

show how they look on each side of the same piece

When these are used to make a necklace

in reality you end up with two different necklaces...

If used for earrings, you look good

both coming and going!

Often the clay colored shapes determined

the Designer Liner accents; for instance,

did you spot the starry night cat & fish on the one pendant?

 Made a lot more of these than I thought; 

some are at Blue Santa and others will go to

The Pennsylvania Guild Store in Lancaster.

Then I'll also make some into necklaces

and earrings to sell...

These lightweight delights are made from the leftovers I had

from making the leaf bracelet beads...

They too have niobium loops and some interest on the reverse side.

I see them as earring pairs but a necklace of them

would also be nice!

Leaf BRACELET Beads from Clay

Fine metal stencils for embossing are a great way

to add a pattern to ceramic clay...

All you need is an engobe, underglazes

and a fervent imagination!

Even the reverse side can be designed 

with a surprise by using terra sigillata on the greenware.

I also added nichrome wire loops to each side

and a slight bend as they were drying to conform to the wrist.
